Through the College Counseling Ambassador (CCA) program, students can get a head start on connecting with college representatives to gain valuable insight. The program allows 11th grade students to assist in hosting college representatives at Campbell Hall and provides them an opportunity to learn about colleges and the admissions process early.
Jake Singer ‘27 is participating in the CCA program this year and sees the benefits that come with his participation.
“Being a part of the CCA program gives you the opportunity as a junior to sit in on college visits with reps from colleges across the U.S,” Singer said. “It lets you preview what you’re gonna do senior year,”
Choosing to participate in the CCA program means making a significant time commitment. Singer explained that despite the time commitment, being a CCA is worth it because of the preparation it provides ahead of the college application process, making him feel more prepared for his senior year.
“It’s important to learn more about different colleges across America as a junior so when you go on college tours, you’re more informed about different places than what would just typically be considered popular colleges,” Singer said. “By being a CCA, I learned about some colleges that I’ve never heard of, so now I’ll know a lot more colleges to visit and have specific questions to ask.”
