After the January 2025 Southern California Wildfires, several student organizations including the student council, green team and mixed ethnicity affinity group came together to put on a bake sale to raise funds for wildfire relief efforts. The fundraiser was held on campus and through collective effort and collaboration of students the sale garnered $1,240.50 in relief funds.
One such student was Sammi Cronin ‘25, co-leader of the Mixed Ethnicity affinity group. Cronin, who had several friends and family members directly impacted by the fire, felt a special responsibility to do as much as she could to help. She organized with other student leaders and was very proud of the work she and her peers were able to do.
“[Seeing] all the clubs come together and do so much good meant a lot to me,” Cronin said. “[Being able] to help run [the fundraiser] and seeing all the stuff that people brought was so inspiring. I’ve never helped organize anything with the Campbell Hall and learning what happens behind the scenes was not only super informative but also made me [very] proud to be a member of this community.”
