From Los Angeles classrooms to a scholar program in San Francisco, Dr. Maria Apablasa has spent 16 years helping students find their voices. Now, she brings that experience to Campbell Hall as the new 11th-grade CHAI English teacher.
For Apablasa, teaching isn’t just about essays and grammar, it’s about giving students room to explore what excites them most.
“I want students to feel like they can explore the things that they’re nerdy about with me,” Apablasa said. “I want them to have the choice of what they want to explore, to help them tap that and unlock new levels of nerdiness for themselves and be able to communicate it.”
